الفصل التانى من قصة journey to the center of the earth

وعندما خرجت مارثا التقطت المخطوط ودرسته وحاول اكسل ان يقوم بترتيب الحروف لتكوين كلمة لاتينيه الا ان ذلك كان مستحيلا فأخدت اضع الحروف فى جميع التركيبات التى استطعت ان افكر فيها لكننى لم اسطتع الوصول الى اى معنى لهذه الكتابة واحسست اننى حران وشعرت اننى لا اسطتيع التنفس لذا فقد امسكت بالمخطوط وبدأت اهوى به على نفسى

وبينما انا جالس امام الشباك رأيت ظهر المخطوط ثم وجهه وفجأة رأيت بعض الكلمات اللاتينية التى اعرفها عن الارض creterem,crater,terrestre ولك ان تتخيل كم كنت مندهشا فلقد استطعت ان اقوم بفك الشفرة السرية واخيرا بدأت اهدى وقلت لنفسى الان دعنا نرى ماذا تقول هذه الكلمات لذا فقد نشرت المخطوط امام الشباك وبدأت فى قرأته واستطعت ان افهم كل ما فيه

ومضت عدة لحظات وانا جالس فى مكانى بدون اى حركة فلقد افزعنى ما كنت اقرأ وسألت نفسى هل كان ذلك ممكنا؟ وهل حدث ذلك بالفعل؟ وهل حقا ان شخصا ما كان لديه من الشجاعة ما يكفى ان يفعل ذلك ؟ وعند اذن قفزت من مقعدى وصرخت قائلا لا ان عمى لا يكتشف ذلك لانه عندما يقرأ ذلك فسوفى يسعى لعمل ذلك بنفسه ولسوف يصطحبنى معه وبالطبع فأننا لن نعود مرة اخرى لهامبورج لذا فيجب ان امنعه من قراءة هذا المخطوط لذا فقد وضعت المخطوط فوق النار وبينما كنت على وشك ان اشعل النار فيه اذ فتح الباب وظهر عمى

وكان لدى من الوقت ما يكفى ان اعيد المخطوط الى المنضدة بدون ان يلاحظ عمى ذلك وكان مازال يفكر فى الرسالة السريه وظل يدرس المخطوط طول الليل ونمت انا على الاريكة ولم استيقظ الا فى الصباح فوجدت عمى مازال يحملق فى المخطوط كان وجهه شاحب وعيناه حمراتان فكنت اشعر بالاسف من اجله لاننى اعرف سر المخطوط الا اننى لا استطيع ان اخبر عمى فلقد كنت اعرف انه سيسعى الى اتباع العالم الايسلندى القديم خطوة بخطوة وفى ذلك خطر محدق

ومر الصباح ولم يكن هناك افطار او غداء وكنت جائعا للغاية فبدأت اغير رأيى من ناحية اخبار عمى بأكتشافى وبالتأكيد فأنا استطيع ان امنعه بالقيام بهذه الرحلة الخطيرة وبينما كان عمى يرتدى قبعته ويستعد للخروج فى حوالى الساعة الثانية قررت ان اخبره

تناولنا طعام الغذاء معا ثم دعانى الى مكتبه وقال بود انك شاب بارع يا اكسل ولقد ساعدتنى كثيرا جدا ولم انسى ذلك ابدا والان احضر لى كتاب اطلس من على الرف ففعلت ما طلبه من عمى ثم اخذ عمى يوضح لى على خريطة ايسلندا الاماكن التى كتب عنها ارن ولاحظت ان سنيفيلس هذا جبل ضخم يصل ارتفاعه الى 2000 متر

فقلت لعمى ان هذا الجبل عبارة عن بركان وانت بالطبع لا تستطيع ان تهبط فى وسط بركان والا فأنك ستموت من الحرارة فتبسم عمى قائلا ان سنيفيلس بركان خامد فلم يثور منذ 1229 ومن ثم فهو بارد تماما الا ان سنيفيلسله عدة فوهات ولا يؤدى الى مركز الارض الى واحده منها فقط ولقد اخبرنا ارن ان جبل سكارتاريس يلقى بظله على هذه الفوهة فى نهاية شهر يونيه
ان كل انسان يعرف ان مركز الارض ساخن جدا ومن المستحيل الى نذهب الى هناك ونعود احياء فتبسم عمى وقال هذا ذلك مستحيل ؟حسنا اننا علماء ومن الواجب ان نذهب الى هناك لنرى بأنفسنا ولسوف نرحل الى ايسلندا بعد غد
